ICC Privacy Policy

THE FOLLOWING DESCRIBES THE INFORMATION THAT ICC (Institute for Cultural Communicators) COLLECTS AND HOW IT USES SUCH INFORMATION.   PLEASE READ THIS PRIVACY POLICY CAREFULLY BEFORE USING THE ICC PLATFORM. BY USING THE PLATFORM AND SERVICES OR SUBMITTING PERSONAL INFORMATION THROUGH THE PLATFORM, YOU EXPRESSLY CONSENT TO THE PROCESSING AND USE OF YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION ACCORDING TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY.

Privacy Statement

ICC  (“ICC ”) is committed to safeguarding Your privacy online. This privacy policy applies to your information that ICC  collects and receives.  By using the Platform and Services, You agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy. Please read the following policy to understand how Your Personal Information will be treated as You use ICC’s Platform and Services. The following discloses our information gathering and dissemination practices.  All capitalized terms not defined in this Privacy Policy have the same meaning as defined in ICC’s Terms of Use. 

Personal Information Defined

For this Privacy Policy, “Personal Information” means information that is personally identifiable to a User or a Student as well as other non-public information that is associated with a User or Student. ICC collects and uses Personal Information as described in this Privacy Policy.

Use of Personal Information

ICC uses the Personal Information that it gathers about You and Your Student(s) for the following purposes:

  • To provide our Services to You or Your Student(s), to communicate about the use of the Services by You or Your Student(s), to respond to inquiries by You or Your Student(s), which may include communicating via email;
  • To tailor the content and information that ICC may send or display to You or Your Student(s) while using the Platform and Services;
  • To better understand how users access and use the Platform and Services, both on an aggregated and individualized basis, to improve the Platform and Services and respond to user desires and preferences, and for other research and analytical purposes;

Minors under the Age of 13

ICC does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 13.  The only personal information ICC receives about Students under the age of 13 is provided by the parent or legal guardian or information provided by the Student as part of that Student’s participation in Services. By registering a Student, a parent is consenting to collecting that information.   It is possible that by fraud or deception by others that ICC may receive information pertaining to children under the age of 13. If ICC is notified of the receipt of information under such circumstances, once verified, ICC will promptly obtain parental or guardian consent, and in the absence of such consent, will delete the information.  

Right to Revoke Consent

Users shall have the right upon notice to ICC to review the Personal Information collected from Student’s under their Account, revoke consent and refuse the further use or collection of Personal Information from Student’s under their Account; and to require that ICC delete Personal Information pertaining to any from Student’s under their Account maintained by ICC. Such requests may be made by emailing ICC at info@iccinc.org

Feedback

If You provide feedback about the Services, ICC  may use and disclose such feedback for any purpose, provided ICC  does not associate such feedback with Your Personal Information. ICC  will collect any information contained in such feedback and will treat the Personal Information in it in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

Disclosure of Personal Information

Except as otherwise stated in this Privacy Policy, ICC  does not disclose to or share Your Personal Information with third parties, unless You ask or authorize ICC  to do so.   ICC  may provide Your Personal Information to third party service providers and suppliers who work on behalf of or with ICC  to provide You with some of the Services and features of the Services and to help us communicate with Users. However, these service providers and suppliers do not have any independent right to use this information except to help ICC  provide the Services.  ICC  may share some or all of Your Personal Information with any parent company, subsidiaries, joint ventures, or other companies under a common control (collectively, “Affiliates”), in which case ICC  will require Affiliates to honor this Privacy Policy.

California Online Privacy Protection Act Compliance

ICC  values Your privacy and has taken the necessary precautions to be in compliance with the California Online Privacy Protection Act. ICC, therefore will not distribute Your Personal Information to outside parties except as permitted under this Privacy Policy.

Mergers

In the event ICC goes through a business transition such as a merger, acquisition by another company, or sale of all or a portion of its assets, Your Personal Information will likely be among the assets transferred. You acknowledge that such transfers may occur and that any acquirer of ICC or its assets may continue to use Your Personal Information as set forth in this Privacy Policy.

Legal Obligation to Disclose

ICC  may (and You authorize us to) disclose information ICC  has collected from and about You or Your Student(s) (including Personal Information) if ICC  believes in good faith that such disclosure is necessary to: (a) comply with relevant laws or to respond to subpoenas or warrants served on us; (b) to enforce our ICC Terms of Use and Privacy Policy; or (c) to protect and defend the rights or property of us, the users of our Services, or third parties.

Changing Personal Information

You may change Your Personal Information (i.e., email address) by logging into Your Account and editing Your Account information.  You may also request that Your Account be terminated and that Your Personal Information be deleted by sending an email to info@iccinc.org. Any termination of Your account may involve deletion of Your Account information from ICC’s databases and all the information and data stored for such Account. ICC will not have any liability whatsoever to You for any termination of Your Account or related deletion of Your information.

Links to Other Web Sites

The Platform may contain links to Third-Party Sites that are not owned or controlled by ICC. The provision of such links is for Your convenience and does not signify ICC’s endorsement of such websites or location or its contents. ICC  has no control over, does not review and is not responsible for the privacy policies of or content displayed on Third Party Sites. Please be aware that the terms of this Privacy Policy do not apply to Third Party Sites.

Notification of Privacy Statement Changes

From time to time, ICC may use Personal Information for new, unanticipated uses not previously disclosed in this Privacy Policy.  If ICC’s information practices change at some time in the future, ICC will post the policy changes to the Platform to notify You of these changes and to provide You with the ability to opt-out of these new uses.  If You are concerned about how Your information is used, You should check back at this Privacy Policy periodically.
