Student Instructors need an Online Recommendation submitted by their Sponsor, State Coordinator (where applicable) and Area Coordinator.

As a Student Instructor, you will be given much responsibility and exposure to running an event and coaching in leadership and communication skills. Arriving earlier allows you more time to plan for your role in leadership and work with your team of Student Instructors and Team Leaders. 

Cost:  Student Instructors are responsible for their transportation to and from the event.  Event, meals, and housing costs will be provided by ICC. There is no need to register for the event.

Arrival/Departure Times: Must be on the ground and available to start 9:30 am Thursday morning before the FTF event. It is suggest you arrive Wednesday evening.  You will remain through closing ceremony on Saturday until close of facility.

Travel Plans:  Please notify Area Coordinator (of Area which you will be serving) of travel arrangements prior to final booking.

 

Student Instructors will:

-receive training for coaching, teaching and leading

-discover the behind-the-scenes conference experience

-participate in conference planning

-lead group activities, simulations, exercises

-teach/co-teach workshops

-coach conference participants of all ages

-acquire leadership tools to take back to their local Chapters

-be mentored by experienced communications coaches

 

To be eligible to apply for a position as a Student Instructor, applicants must:

1) have completed YSG PHASE II.

2) have participated as one or more:

-RSA at National Convention 2011 and/or Winter Retreat 2012, or PREP Member 2011.

3) be at least 16 years of age by date of event.

* Those students 15 years of age by January 1, 2012 will be given special consideration for 2012 FTF applications.
