Q: Can we photocopy your materials?
A: While all of our curriculum is copyright protected, we do allow families to produce one copy of our Beginning Public Speaking Student Workpacks. We ask that you still email icchomeoffice@gmail.com to let us know. If you need to make more than one copy, we do charge $12 per book.
Q: Do you offer bulk discounts?
A: We do offer discounts on materials that we publish with the exception of Young Speakers Guilds. Get the details here.
Q: Can I preview a book before I buy it?
A: We are unable to do that at this time, but we are working towards putting more of our material online for your perusal.
Q: Can I return a book or DVD set?
A: Yes. Learn more about returns here.
Q: What do you recommend for beginning public speakers who are in middle or high school?
A: The Beginning Public Speaking curriculum is written for an elementary-age audience, so we recommend taking a much different approach for middle and high schoolers.
For your middle and high schoolers (7th-12th grade):
-
Show your students the examples of speeches on the Beginning Public Speaking DVDs
-
Give them exercises out of the Beginning Public Speaking book
-
The students will NOT have a copy of any book
-
After the BPS curriculum, use The Art of Interpretation.
-
As the facilitator, you read the individual lessons and teach them out of the book to your students. Then you go to the back of the book where lesson activities are and follow the directions for those.
Again, because the material is written at a grade level far below high school, we do NOT recommend that your students have copies of either of these books. Instead of ordering individual copies of the Beginning Public Speaking book, we recommend the BPS 2-DVD Pack.
