ICC Mission Statement
The mission of the Institute for Cultural Communicators is to shape culture through authentic communication and equip students with both the competence and character they need to influence culture for Christ.
ICCFS Overview
The Institute for Cultural Communicators Forensics Society (ICCFS) is charged with developing a training environment that improves competence while developing character, furthering the ICC goal of teaching students to communicate Christ to the culture. Keys to competence include coaching, practice and motivation, and competition is both a proven motivator and the fastest way to become familiar with basic communication skills. Designed specifically for Chapter members, the ICCFS events correlate directly to the YSG training, tying recognition and rewards to the overall program and giving Chapter members from every educational environment an avenue for practicing their skills together. This optional tool for Chapter members provides an additional resource to assist them in developing competence and character.
Eligibility
Chapter members ages 11 and older may participate. Speakers advance to increasingly higher levels of competition as they progress through the YSG curriculum, in which they also study biblical communication and learn to become peer mentors and coaches.
National Convention
YSG Phase II, Phase III, and Guild events at local tournaments offer students the opportunity to qualify to the ICC Summer National Convention. This premier ICC leadership event will combine additional competition levels and events, leadership training, guest speakers, chapter and individual showcases from across the country, and a chance to reconnect with the nationwide ICC community as we seek to refine competence and character together.
