Our world is crying out to be listened to. From the songs of loneliness we hear on the radio,
to the books we read and the shows we see on television, we are confronted by a culture that
is looking for a place to belong and needing to hear the Truth. However, before anyone will
listen to us, they need to know that we care, and that is where good communication comes in.
Whether it is in a public lecture or in a private conversation, I have learned that if you want
people to know that you care about them, one of the best ways to show it is by your
communication. If you care about someone, let it show in the way you speak and in the way
you listen. When you care about a person, you can change the world, one conversation at a time.
- Julia Kiewitt, introduced to CFC and public speaking at age 15,
now working in Washington, D.C., on public policy to strengthen America's families.

So many people think their words will have no impact.
That is the mindset with which I approached community speaking.
I found out I was wrong. ~Krysi, high school student, IN
What are the benefits?
Teachers comment on how communication education produces more competent and motivated students in all academic disciplines. Administrators for a variety of educational programs have observed that students trained as competent communicators raise the Christian character bar for the entire student body. Parents note that their children develop increased sensitivity to others, global awareness, a sense of purpose, and the confidence that they can impact their culture for Christ.
